22nd Annual MLK, JR. Day Unity Breakfast
Jan. 16th ~ 8:00 AM ~ The Mill
Join Mississippi State University in a community-wide celebration honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast will be served promptly at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. program featuring keynote speaker Larnzy Carpenter, pastor of First Baptist Church of Longview. At the conclusion of the program, participants will be encouraged to engage in a "Day of Service" to honor Dr. King's legacy through service.
Volunteer on MLK Day ~ Jan. 16th~ 10:30am
Do you or your group want to volunteer on MLK Day? Please complete our Volunteer Registration Form to volunteer for Starkville MLK Day of Service on January 16, 2017. All service projects will be completed between 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. Volunteer instructions and service assignments will be assigned at the Unity Breakfast between 8am and 10:00am. Service sites include:

Join us January 16th at the Unity Breakfast to meet and greet with local nonprofits and find volunteer opportunities for the New Year

MLK Baby Supply Drive Benefiting Emerson Family Resource Center ~ Jan. 4th-31st
Lend a helping hand to local new moms who can’t afford everything their baby needs at first by donating baby supplies to Emerson’s New Moms Program!
Supplies Needed: strollers, carriers, bassinet, crib, car seat, wash cloths & towels, receiving blankets, baby wash/shampoo, diapers (Pambers, sizes NB, 1, & 2), bottles, socks, baby mittens, baby lotion, baby powder, disposable wipes, burp cloths, bibs, bottles, and clothing for boys & girls ages 0-3 months & up.
*Items donated may be new or gently used.
*All monetary donations made towards purchasing supplies need to be either cash or a check made out to Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated Scool Distict and in the notes section specify that it’s a “Donation to Emerson Family Resource Center Moms.”
*Supplies can be dropped off at the following locations between January 4th and 31st:
• Greater Starkville Development Partnership (200 East Main Street; Starkville, MS)
• MSU Maroon Volunteer Center (3rd Floor of Mosely Hall, MSU Campus)
• Emerson Family Resource Center (1504 Louisville Street; Starkville, MS)
